Their Best Self

They walked from the car to the cart hand in hand, stopping to look both ways for cars and keeping their bears safe from parking lot hazards.  These two independent, capable girls - historically known for back arching tantrums in and out of carseats, snagging treats from shelves, and consistent cart ride boycotting - pulled their public selves together.

What a relief.

Don't worry, it's not all butterflies and rainbows here.  Marguerite insisted on wearing G's backpack to the playground, resulting in a very slow walk to and from.  Look at what a big girls she is!  This photo feels like a glimpse into our first-day-of-kindergarten future.

For now I'll stay in the moment.  The diaper wearing, night nursing, no nap taking, picky eating moment.
