Laughing Nocturnal

Marguerite and I went on our last walk along the dike before duck hunting season starts.  We are lucky to have these dogs escort us along our way and entertain us by wrestling each other off the edge of the dike and into the irrigation ditch:

Alyson and Joleen came down from Bellingham after dinner, played and read bedtime stories to my girls,  and shared a bottle of wine and a lot of belly laughing on the slough-side bench after my hoodlums were tucked in.

Here's evidence of our late night frozen pizza crawl:

We gathered around coffee at 6:30 this morning before we parted ways, back to work, school, child-rearing.  Sometimes friendship has to be nocturnal because life shouldn't be lived without it.
