I Remember
Living with my family in this house, in this little town, in this rural county makes it easy for me to disconnect from the vastness of our world. Today was different. I spent my evening thinking about the significance and sadness of this day. I remembered standing with my roommates in our front yard the evening of the World Trade Center attack, in a tight circle holding vigil with candles, our street lined with neighbors doing the same thing. I remember feeling connected in a different way to community and to country. I remember the heaviness in my heart.
