As excited as I am about what is happening upstairs, it's still really loud and unpleasant to be home in the midst of a major construction project. The girls don't even seem to notice. Genevieve interrogates every dude walking up and down the stairs with a fast line of questioning that involves tools, paint color and if anyone has seen her (toy of the day) that she misses and hasn't seen in eighty years.
I decided to pack us up this morning and brave school clothes shopping as a trio. In hindsight I'm not sure why I thought cramming into a tiny dressing room and watching Genevieve try on 14 outfits while sumo wrestling her impatient little sister would be a better option than listening to a nail gun all day, but we got the job done.
We picnicked and played at the squirt park for the afternoon. It was 80 degrees! I forgot a magazine so resorted to eavesdropping to keep me entertained. Main topics overheard were preschool, lack of sleep, and the election. I would have been much happier with a People magazine. Next time.
